JOB DESCRIPTION

- We are looking for a Broadcast Engineer with an interest and experience within Radio & Audio!

WHO ARE WE?

- We are the Radio Technology Team of the Client — the driving force behind the technical magic of brands such as Radio 1, Radio 2, Studio Brussel, Client MAX and the news service. From studios to streaming, metadata to music planning, we make sure everything works, sounds and keeps running. And that 24/7.
- Today, we are facing a crucial transformation: the migration to the new Client media facilities and data centre environment (LCL/NVH). That means: building while we broadcast, migrating without coming to a standstill.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

- As an external Broadcast Engineer, you will play a key role in the preparation and execution of the migration of our radio systems to the new environment.
- You are the linchpin between technology and creativity.
- You will manage and optimize the software tools that radio makers use every day — think radio production systems, music planning and editing tools.
- You ensure that everything works together smoothly, expand functionalities and think along with the people behind the microphone.
- You will work end-to-end on critical radio platforms such as Omniplayer, Pluxbox and RadioESB, ensuring that they are set up and configured correctly.
- You will work closely with:
- Infra teams (data center, networks, platforms) Integrators (including Simac) internal stakeholders (radio, news, operations) Your goal is clear: a stable, validated go-live of radio workflows without surprises.

MIGRATION & IMPLEMENTATION:





- You prepare and actually carry out the relocation of radio systems. From first setup in staging to final cut-over to production.
- You switch effortlessly between today and tomorrow: you help build solutions that not only work now, but are also ready for the future of radio.

TESTING & VALIDATION:

- You test workflows together with users and translate practical feedback into technical improvements. Not theoretical perfection, but workable reality.

INTEGRATION:

- You ensure that systems work together seamlessly within the new architecture (network, storage, applications).

PROBLEM SOLVING:

- You dive into issues that typically only really become visible when everything comes together. Complex, sometimes messy, always impactful.
- You tackle technical challenges that are not in manuals.
- You are the one who dares to think outside the box, who makes connections between systems and comes up with solutions that others have not yet seen.

WHO ARE YOU?

YOU ARE BROADCAST-MINDED:

- You have an affinity with radio and understand how production and broadcasting work.
- Terms like codecs, AES67, playout, and studio flows aren't buzzwords for you.
- You have a strong technical foundation: You have a background in IT, electronics or engineering.
- You feel comfortable in complex system landscapes.
- Knowledge of or experience with Omniplayer and Pluxbox are certainly a added value.
- You are hands-on and pragmatic: You can plan,



but above all: you can execute.
- You work in a structured way, but do not block when reality deviates from the plan.
- You have experience with migrations / integrations: You have experience with moving or setting up systems in new environments (data centers, cloud, broadcast setups).
- You are problem-solving and persistent: You don't stop at "this doesn't work", but search until it does.
- A team player with communication skills: You work well together and know how to translate technical information into understandable language. You communicate clearly, think along and also dare to be critical — always with respect and with the joint result in mind. What makes this role unique?

- You are working at a tipping point: the transition to a completely new media environment. This is not a maintenance role, but a construction phase with a direct impact on live radio.

SKILLS

MUST HAVE

- Demonstrable broadcast experience
- Demonstrable experience as a System Administrator (setup, management and maintenance of the systems)
- Proven experience with audio technology
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience, at system level, of at least one of the specialist systems: Unix/Linux/Windows - Mainframe - Middleware - security- network and communication - systems, generic or specialist

SHOULD HAVE

- Demonstrable experience with ICT infrastructure solutions
- Demonstrable experience with radio platforms such as Omniplayer, Pluxbox and RadioESB
- Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR - level C2.
