Offer Description

C3S works at the intersection of construction and digitalization: optimization of construction processes, new and alternative cementitious materials, sensor-based monitoring of concrete performance, and sustainability assessment of infrastructure. The group is involved in national projects and in large-scale European projects, working with both academic and industrial partners in Barcelona.

What we are looking for:

The selected candidate will develop their thesis within one of the following four research lines:

- Early-age microcracking: monitoring and sensor development




- AI-driven management of sustainable concrete
- Digital twins of construction sites and information management
- Mathematical models for infrastructure impact and infrastructure economics

Eligibility

You must meet at least one of the following:

- Bachelor's degree obtainedwithin the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) , or
- Master's degree completed or ongoingwithin the EHEA , or
- Already enrolled in adoctoral programme of a Catalan university .

Requirements

- Weighted average of the bachelor's degree≥8.50/10 on the Spanish scale .
- Studies giving access to the doctorate completedbetween 1 January 2023 and the contract start date.
- No previous predoctoral contract.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics (line 4) or related.
- Official academic transcripts (BSc and MSc), including the description of the grading system (max/min grade, pass mark). xqbhyrx Provisional transcript if the master is ongoing.
- Spanish grade equivalence declaration — one per degree and one per MSc (see note)
- Exact end date of the studies giving access to the doctorate
- One page: your proposal within the chosen line
