The Computer VisionCenter(CVC) is a non-profit researchcenterestablishedin 1995 by theGeneralitatde Catalunya and theUniversitatAutònomade Barcelona (UAB). Its mission is to carry outcutting-edgeresearch that has the highest international impact in the field of computer vision. It also promotes the transference of knowledge to industry and society.

Computer vision is an exciting research area and an omnipresent technology,essentially empoweringmachines with the sense of vision. The CVC is a successful marriage between knowledge and innovation. In addition to ourcutting-edgescientific achievements, we haveestablishedlasting ties with industrial partners and created several spin-off companies.

CONTEXTAND MISSION

We are seeking apostdoc to join theQuantum Machine Learningteam(QML-CVC) in beautiful Barcelona.

TheQML-CVC team( )is part of the Computer Vision Center at theUniversitatAutònomade Barcelona; theCVC isacenterwith over 150 persons working machine learningand computer visionresearch.

The position is for3years ,



starting ASAP,focused on‘Quantum Machine Learning’ ,withtheobjectiveof investigating hybrid classical-quantum and quantum inspired algorithms.The tasks will include the design and implementation of explorative research pathways for general problems related to machine learning and computer vision. Specific research lines can be defined in collaboration with the supervisor, with potential avenues including generative models, optimization tasks, orotherspecific applications.

Thecandidate will work in the context of the project ML-QSIM, a 4-year, 2M€ projectfunded by the Spanish Government,withina multidisciplinary team incollaboration with 3 most relevant institutions for the Spanish Research Council (CSIC): Centro deInvestigaciónenNanomaterialesyNanotecnología(CINN) in Asturias, Instituto deNanocienciayMaterialesde Aragón (INMA), and the Instituto deCienciadeMaterialesde Madrid (ICMM).Particularly, this will allow the validation of the research results in the Rydberg platform to be implemented during the lifetime of the project.

CANDIDATE ’S PROFILE

The candidate shouldpossessa PhDin Quantum Information or Quantum Computingat the time ofenrollment,



andhaveexperience and skills in algorithm design and implementation.The candidate should have a background in machine learningand experience is welcome in common software libraries such asPennylane,Qiskitor similar.

Applicants are expected to be fluent in both oral and written communication in English. They should work well ina team whiledemonstratinginitiative and independence. The candidate is expected to supervise PhD students.

FUNDING CONDITIONS

- The position will belocatedat Computer Vision Center (UniversitatAutònomade Barcelona campus).
- We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week) temporary contract with versátil working hours.
- Duration:Starting asap until final date of the projectinNovember 30, 2029.
- Living allowance of 35-42k€/year (gross salary) depending on experience
- Expected starting date: The contract must start no later than November 30, 2026.
