About the Role
micro1 is engaging Spanish Language Experts (Spain) to contribute their linguistic expertise to a customer project focused on advancing next-generation AI systems.
In this role, you'll apply your knowledge of Spanish from Spain (European Spanish) to review, correct, and annotate language data used to train and evaluate AI systems. Your linguistic judgment will help improve how models understand, process, and generate accurate and natural Spanish.
No prior experience in AI is required — your language expertise is what matters.
Scope of Work
- Review and accurately correct machine-generated Spanish (Spain) transcriptions for grammar, fluency, pronunciation representation, and linguistic accuracy.
- Add precise metadata tags and detailed linguistic annotations to audio and text datasets.
- Ensure all content complies with established linguistic guidelines, formatting requirements, and project specifications.
- Perform detailed quality checks on transcriptions and annotations, identifying errors, inconsistencies, and ambiguities.
- Communicate clearly with the project team regarding linguistic questions, issues, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with customer and project team members to resolve language ambiguities and improve overall data quality.
- Identify recurring issues and provide actionable recommendations to improve language-data workflows and annotation processes.
- Maintain consistent quality and accuracy across high-volume language-data deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent or native-level Spanish (Spain) proficiency with strong linguistic intuition and familiarity with European Spanish usage.
- Demonstrated experience in transcription, linguistic annotation, metadata tagging,
or language-data preparation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to linguistic accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in remote and multicultural project environments.
- Ability to critically evaluate and correct machine-generated linguistic content.
- Comfortable working independently, managing deadlines, and following detailed project specifications with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with digital tools used for language-data management, annotation, transcription, or quality assurance.
- Ability to identify subtle differences in grammar, vocabulary, phrasing, and regional language usage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an audio engineer, professional transcriber, language annotator, data annotator, or linguistic reviewer.
- Familiarity with speech recognition, language technology, machine translation, or AI-powered transcription tools.
- Academic or professional background in linguistics, translation, philology, language studies, or a related field.
- Previous experience working on AI training, speech-data collection, or language-evaluation projects is a plus.
Compensation Structure
Compensation is output-based; experts are paid for approved deliverables that meet the project specifications and quality requirements. The amount of work and time required may vary depending on the task and individual workflow. Minimum submission requirements may apply.
Start Timeline & Availability
We typically fill roles within 48 hours and are looking for experts who are ready to start promptly. If selected, we expect you to begin contributing shortly after completing onboarding and receiving project instructions.
