911 Entry Level Dispatcher
- Shifts: A: 7:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. | B: 3:00 P.M. - 11:00 P.M. | C: 11:00 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer 911 and non-emergency calls for service
- Dispatch Police, Fire, and EMS in Fort Wayne and Allen County
- Collect and report critical information during high-stress situations
- Use NCIC, IDACS, and Spillman databases for warrants, license checks, and officer support
What You Bring - Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
- Must pass keyboarding test (minimum 40 WPM)
- Ability to quickly assess emergency situations and extract key information
- Calm, professional,
and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
Preferred Certifications / Skills
- Knowledge of law enforcement, fire, and EMS operations
- Proficient in computers, radios, and office equipment
- Ability to read maps and use emergency codes effectively
