About Merchery

Merchery was born from the simple observation that corporate gifts and promotional products are, most of the time, low quality. This billion-dollar market is often opaque and filled with products people throw away after two weeks. Our vision at Merchery is to offer beautiful, useful, and carefully sourced products that people actually want.

We are an early-stage company launched in April 2020, now building the foundations for our next phase of international growth. We are looking for a new family member who can help us scale the Group from approximately €20M to €100M in general revenue, while making Merchery significantly more profitable along the way.

The Role

We are looking for a Head of Finance who can combine strong corporate finance expertise with a very hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset.

Your role will be to make sure Merchery has the financing, cash management, reporting, and financial discipline required to scale internationally. More importantly, you will work directly with the co-founder and leadership team to improve profitability across the entire business.

This is not a role for someone who only wants to supervise, delegate, or produce reports. We are looking for a true operator: someone with a strong sense of ownership who takes responsibility, gets things done personally, and is comfortable moving forward despite imperfect information and processes.

Your mission will be to:

- Build a reliable and scalable finance function for a €100M international Group.

- Secure the financing, subsidies, and cash management required to support growth.

- Own budgeting, forecasting, reporting, monthly closing, and financial control.

- Work with every team to identify and execute the levers that will improve profitability.

Our business is complex. We combine e-commerce, assisted sales, and full-service customer projects across several markets and entities. We work with different currencies, suppliers, accounting firms, payment terms, and operational models.

This means the role requires strong financial expertise,



but also the ability to understand the business, go into the details, make decisions quickly, and turn analysis into action.

What You'll Own

- Own the Group’s financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financing, and consolidated reporting.
- Improve the monthly closing and reporting process across all entities, while coordinating external accounting firms, auditors, and tax advisors.
- Own and improve the supplier payment and accounts payable process.
- Own and improve the customer payment follow-up, credit control, and cash collection process.
- Work directly with Sales, Procurement, Operations, HR, Marketing, and Tech to improve margins, pricing, costs, productivity, and overall profitability.
- Secure financing, subsidies, grants, and other sources of funding.
- Build the right financial processes, controls, tools, and team structure to support international growth.
- Turn financial data into actionable business opportunities, leverage the company’s key growth and profitability drivers, and create lasting value.
- Act as a trusted partner to the co-founder and leadership team on major strategic and operational decisions.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, accounting firms, financing partners, and other financial stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

- You have 7-10 years of experience in finance, including significant and relevant experience as a Head of Finance, CFO, Finance Director, VP Finance, or in an equivalent senior leadership role.
- You have supported a growing company in an international or multi-entity environment.
- You are highly sharp, structured, analytical, and commercially minded.




- You have a proven ability to improve profitability, cash generation, financial control, and operational performance.
- You have a strong sense of ownership and are a genuine hands-on doer.
- You execute yourself. You are not afraid to build the model, fix the process, follow up on a payment, or solve the problem directly.
- You are comfortable working in imperfect environments and creating structure as you go.
- You are pragmatic, fast, and able to prioritize what really matters.
- You can challenge assumptions, make decisions with incomplete information, and take responsibility for the outcome.
- You communicate clearly and are comfortable working directly with the co-founder and all company teams.
- Experience in a similar industry, product environment, or business model is a plus
- Being familiar with Odoo accounting is a strong advantage
- You are fluent in English. Additional languages are a plus.

2. Practical case study: Work through a business and financial case related to scaling Merchery from €20M to €100M while improving profitability.
3. Deep dive interview: Meeting the team and key executives
