About this Role Revolut’s Risk function operates comprehensively across all business functions, products,
and regions to monitor front-line performance and ensure the organization operates safely and effectively. The Risk team is typically among the first to be involved in new initiatives, ranging from technological implementations to customer support enhancements, providing essential oversight and governance. The Risk Manager (ESG) position focuses specifically on identifying and quantifying environmental, social, and governance risks within the organization. Operating within the second line of defence framework, this role ensures that first-line business functions properly manage risks and controls related to ESG factors. The successful candidate will help shape the future of finance by developing comprehensive risk management frameworks and establishing standards that enable Revolut to navigate the increasingly complex landscape of ESG regulations and climate-related financial risks.
Responsibilities Develop ESG risk management frameworks
Set standards for managing ESG risk, including risk appetite, balance sheet management, and impact assessments and responses to changes in ESG regulations
Develop and maintain risk management policies, procedures, limits, stress testing capabilities, analytics, system support, and reporting infrastructure
Engage and challenge first-line businesses to identify, monitor, and govern emerging ESG risks, including conducting new product risk assessments
Model ESG risks under climate stress scenarios with appropriate assumptions and calibrations
Monitor ESG risk exposures against established limits, investigate risk events, produce management information reports, and escalate breaches to appropriate committees
Establish relationships with senior stakeholders to enforce current risk management frameworks, identify emerging risks, and provide effective challenge
Requirements 3 or more years of experience in ESG or climate risk management
Expertise in ESG risk issues and methodologies, with experience developing and implementing climate risk stress testing
Understanding of general financial markets, products, and linkages to ESG and climate factors
Knowledge of ESG-related regulations and their application and impact in financial services
Understanding of various stress testing methodologies, and experience with model development, implementation, and governance
Ability to break down complex problems into smaller, manageable components
Strong capability to work with data to facilitate analysis and decision-making
Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and drive change
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience with SQL or other scripting languages (nice to have)
