In this role, you will execute work under general supervision, handling moderately complex engineering challenges to enhance and innovate Liferay's core web content, asset management, and digital repository capabilities. You are an engineer with solid working knowledge of enterprise software development who takes initiative, independently executes feature projects, and collaborates closely with cross-functional agile teams.

Work in a long-term software product. Your software will be used by thousands of developers and end users around the world.
Write high quality and maintainable code. Keeping technical debt under control.
Use Git and GitHub in a daily basis: branches, merges, rebases, pull-requests, etc.
Work closely with UX Designers and Product Managers to implement the shared vision.
3 years of experience with software engineering best practices: version control, unit testing, etc.
~ Degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
~ Understand and share the values of agile development.
~ Write high quality code using Java, Freemarker, SQL
~ Experience writing enterprise-level code in one or more programming languages.
~ if you don't know something, you're willing (and capable) of learning it.
~ Fully comfortable working in English and Spanish, both written and spoken. Experience developing in Javascript (React)
Understand and share the values of agile development.
You are open to write Typescript for our frontend applications too (API Explorer and API Builder).
It's a big plus if you're a contributor to open source, hackathons, meetups or whatever-related to coding.
