D&P; Strategic Advisors is seeking an EV Charger Infrastructure Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support a major European EV charging infrastructure programme.
The idóneo candidate will have a proven track record in the definition, design, procurement, deployment and commissioning of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at commercial or industrial scale.
The role is focused on delivering EV charging solutions across a European logistics network. The successful candidate will use strong electrical engineering expertise to assess site electrical capacity, define charger specifications, coordinate with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and utilities, manage vendor deliverables and ensure end-to-end project delivery from feasibility through commissioning and handover.
The role will act as the technical bridge between Real Estate, engineering, site operations, construction teams and external contractors, while supporting integration of charging infrastructure with the required backend systems.
Prior experience with EV charging deployment at fleet depots, logistics hubs, warehouses or commercial/industrial properties is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities The EV Charger Infrastructure Technical Program Manager will be responsible for:
Conducting site electrical assessments to determine spare capacity, transformer ratings, switchgear suitability and DNO/utility upgrade requirements for EV charger deployment.
Defining EV charger specifications to be delivered by developers and third parties, including Level 2 AC and DC Fast Charging, based on fleet operational requirements, vehicle dwell times, duty cycles and energy consumption profiles.
Developing end-to-end project plans covering feasibility, design, procurement, civil and electrical construction, commissioning and handover to site operations.
Liaising with operations, engineering, fleet electrification, procurement, finance, sustainability and IT teams to resolve technical issues and support successful delivery.
Coordinating with DNOs and local utilities on grid connection applications, load studies, service upgrades and transformer installations.
Managing vendor relationships for EV charging equipment, electrical contractors and civil works contractors, including technical review of deliverables for accuracy, completeness and compliance with specifications.
Supporting integration of chargers with Charging Management Systems, fleet scheduling tools and site energy-management platforms, including interoperability, real-time monitoring, remote control, data accuracy, cybersecurity and automated fault reporting.
Developing detailed scopes of work for EV charger installations, including:
Electrical design
Single-line diagrams
Cable sizing
Protection coordination
Civil works
Trenching
Conduit
Foundations
Commissioning protocols
Contributing to the load-management strategy to optimise charger utilisation, control peak demand charges and ensure fleet vehicles achieve the required state of charge for scheduled dispatch.
Ensuring compliance with applicable EU electrical and EV charging standards, including IEC 61851 and relevant national electrical regulations and client safety standards.
Supporting pilot installations at approximately 3–5 priority sites, establishing commissioning protocols, acceptance criteria and handover processes.
Coordinating with DNOs and utilities on grid connection applications and identifying sites requiring electrical service upgrades.
Developing a load-management and demand-charge mitigation strategy for fleet depot charging across the network.
Delivering regular programme reporting and executive-level updates to senior stakeholders.
Supporting annual budgeting cycles for EV charging infrastructure deployments across the European network.
Driving lessons learned, standardisation and scalable design templates to accelerate rollout across multiple sites and countries.
Evaluating commissioning, testing and acceptance documentation for charging assets to verify compliance and identify technical risks.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical infrastructure design, installation or commissioning.
Demonstrable experience with EV charging infrastructure, including design, specification, deployment or commissioning of commercial or fleet charging systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including LV systems, three-phase systems, load calculations, cable sizing and protection coordination.
Familiarity with European electrical and EV charging standards, including IEC 61851 and applicable local statutory requirements.
Experience coordinating with DNOs/utilities on grid connections, capacity assessments or service upgrades.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across geographically distributed sites.
Professional fluency in English.
Ability to work effectively across technical, commercial and operational teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Spanish language skills are a strong advantage.
EV infrastructure certification such as EVITP or equivalent.
Experience with fleet depot electrification, including understanding of dwell times, duty cycles and load management for scheduled fleet operations.
Proficiency with electrical design tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, Revit or similar.
Experience with DC Fast Charging systems from 50 kW to 350 kW, smart charging, OCPP protocols and energy-management systems.
Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and their integration with EV charging infrastructure.
Experience managing programmes across multiple European countries and regulatory frameworks.
Prior experience in logistics, warehousing or industrial site environments.
Working Model
Full-time position.
Remote position based in Spain.
The role will support projects and stakeholders across multiple European countries.
Travel to project sites across Europe will be required when necessary.
