We are adding a Junior BI Analyst to our team to support a large scale project for our partner, a European client. This role is built for someone who enjoys organizing information and making complex data easier to read for busy leadership teams. As a fully remote member of Olive Tree Consulting, you will help us turn raw numbers into clear, written logic that supports better decision making.
About the Role This position exists because management decisions often get bogged down by messy or inaccessible data. In our work, we help teams bridge the gap between their high level strategy and their daily work.
You will be the person who translates operational activity into structured reports and dashboards. Instead of creating complex visuals for their own sake, you will focus on creating the simplest possible record that tells a team what they need to know. This is an entry level role where you will learn how to use data to solve practical management friction.
What You Will Do
- Collect and clean data from various sources to ensure our reports are accurate and reliable.
- Build and maintain simple dashboards that track key management metrics for our European client project.
- Write brief, clear summaries of what the data shows, avoiding jargon and focusing on practical facts.
- Help the advisory team identify where processes are stalling by looking for patterns in operational data.
- Update internal tracking systems to ensure the firm has a clear memory of past project performance.
- Check for errors in automated reports and fix data entry inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with other team members in a fully remote environment to prepare for weekly reviews.
- Organize spreadsheets and databases so that information remains easy to find as the project grows.
What We Are Looking For
- A strong interest in how businesses work and how data can make management tasks easier.
- The ability to write clearly and concisely about numbers and trends.
- High attention to detail, especially when checking your own work for errors.
- A logical mindset that prefers simple solutions over complicated ones.
- Comfort working independently while staying connected through digital tools.
- Willingness to learn new tools and methods for organizing information.
- A calm approach to deadlines and the ability to stay focused on quiet, concentrated tasks.
Helpful Background
- Basic familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets for data cleaning and basic analysis.
- Exposure to SQL or basic database concepts through coursework or personal projects.
- A degree or certification in business, data science, economics, or a related field.
- Experience working in a remote setting or managing your own schedule effectively.
- Previous experience in a role that required data entry or administrative precision.
What We Offer This is a permanent, full time position that is fully remote, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive.
We offer a competitive salary that is attractive for an entry level role in this market. You will work in an environment that values quiet focus and clear writing over long meetings or performative office culture. We provide the support and tools needed to grow your analytical skills within a practical, advisory context. Because we are a remote firm, we focus on clear documentation and asynchronous communication to keep work manageable. About Olive Tree Olive Tree Consulting Group is a focused advisory practice that helps leadership teams solve recurring management issues. We typically work on the space between strategy and daily execution. A team can have very capable people and still find that decisions keep reopening, priorities stall, or responsibility remains unclear. These are rarely personality problems: they are structural habits that have not kept up with the company's growth.
We favor practical changes over large-scale transformation programs. Our work involves looking at how decisions are made, how meetings are run, and how ownership is recorded. We prefer useful written notes and clear ownership over polished presentations and vague alignment. Good advisory work should make things plainer and leave the team with a rhythm they can continue on their own.
The firm is built on the principle that memory is not a management system. We help teams create the smallest possible written record to support their work so that important follow-up does not depend on who was in the room or who has the best memory. The goal is a quieter management pattern that makes the existing work easier to lead.
