Interested in contributing to the transition towards a low-carbon future? Join us in advancing our understanding of the subsurface processes that underpin safe and sustainable deployment of geo-energy technologies.

We offer a 4-year PhD position aimed at advancing the understanding of coupled processes,



with particular emphasis on geochemical and geomechanical interactions in fractured rock induced by fluid injection/extraction. The research will focus on processes relevant to low-carbon geo-energy technologies, including geothermal energy, geologic carbon storage, and subsurface energy storage.

The position will be part of the NetDyn project (Connecting network structure to dynamics: Flow, transport and geomechanical processes in the heterogeneous subsurface for green energy technologies), funded by the Spanish Research Funding Agency (AEI). The PhD research will be supervised by Prof. Victor Vilarrasa and Dr. Iman Rahimzadeh Kivi. The position offers a gross annual salary of approximately €22,000.
