Aortyx is looking for Jr. and Sr. Research and Development Engineers (m/f) to work full-time, on-site, in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona. Internship candidates are welcome too.

Main tasks and responsibilities

- Assist in conducting research projects to develop new medical devices and improve existing products.
- Design and execute experiments under the guidance of senior researchers.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and regulatory departments.
- Prepare and present research findings to internal stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest scientific and technological advancements in the field.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards in all research activities
- Maintain proper documentation and reporting of research activities.

The role involves supporting the designing and developing of new and existing products and technologies, from concept through prototyping and validation. The engineer conducts experiments and research studies, plans and executes testing protocols, analyzes results, and iterates designs to improve performance, safety,



and reliability. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, documenting technical findings, preparing reports and presentations, and contributing to regulatory and quality-related activities. The role also involves staying current with scientific and engineering advances relevant to Aortyx's solutions and applying them to ongoing projects.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master's, PhD) is preferred.

SKILLS

- Good knowledge of research methodologies and scientific principles.
- Experience with CAD software (Solidworks or similar), and/or working in wet lab environments and/or executing mechanical bench testing.
- Not required but welcome, work experience in the medical device industry, ideally in the cardiovascular field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of data analysis software and laboratory equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. xqysrnh
