Job Summary

The Caledonia School of English (1993) is a Premium Cambridge English Centre and international, award-winning School. We are situated on the beautiful Costa de la Luz and regarded as a centre of academic excellence in this area.

We are looking for an EFL teacher to complement our teaching team for the coming academic year:

- Position: full time with a 14th September start. The initial contract will be until 30th June 2027 and renewable thereafter.

Our school-age students are 5-18 (around 95% of our annual intake) and all our classes are face-to-face in groups that never exceed 12 students.

All our classrooms are light, spacious, and are fitted with high-quality IWBs, laptop and excellent sound equipment. We take great care to use the best teaching resources available both in printed and digital form.

All our teachers are caring, empathetic, self-motivated, with good class-management skills and well integrated into Spanish life. We expect our teaching staff to be professional and well-appointed. The ability and keenness to work with young learners is a priority and previous experience of Cambridge examinations and performance assessment will be an advantage.

The teaching timetable can be 21 or 24‑hours per week, according to teachers' preferences. The timetable for teachers is from Monday to Friday, with an earlier finish on Fridays.





We offer excellent working conditions; we will reimburse travel costs and provide complimentary hotel accommodation on arrival, if required, for the first three days. With our support, teachers will have found good, well-priced accommodation within the first two or three days.

Our attractive school, this delightful historic town and its coastal location make life here extremely pleasant. Besides, living costs are lower than most other areas of Spain.

Qualifications

- University Degree (in Languages, Linguistics or relevant Humanities)
- Good TEFL / teaching qualifications
- English mother-tongue level (minimum C2)
- Able to work with digital resources and platforms
- Eligible to work in the EU (NIE/TIE holder)
- Excellent references

Salary and Benefits

€1,420 / month (net)

≈ £1,218 / $1,659

- Guaranteed Basic Salary (for 24 teaching hours): 1,550 Euros per month)*
- Approximate take-home pay: 1,400 - 1,420* (after taxes, Social Security and other deductions)
- Holiday payment is made on contract completion.

Social Security, National Health and Unemployment benefits are fully covered by the school (approximately 500 euros extra per month) plus an accident insurance and free annual medical check.
