Junior QA Engineer (Contract) – Madrid, SpainUp to €300 per dayAutonomo - frelance role for 6 months initially with good chance of extensions.We're working with a integral organisation looking to bring in a Junior QA Engineer to support a busy technology function on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.This is an excellent opportunity for a junior QA professional, graduate, or someone early in their testing career to gain hands-on experience within a large-scale enterprise environment, working on business-critical systems alongside experienced technical teams.The role is based in Madrid, Spain, operating on a hybrid model with 1–2 days per week onsite.You will need good English and Spanish language skills, any Italian or French skills in addition would be nice to have (but certainly not essential)The roleYou'll support software quality assurance across key digital platforms, helping to ensure systems are thoroughly tested, defects are identified early, and releases are delivered smoothly.Working closely with developers, business analysts and senior stakeholders, you'll be involved across the full manual testing lifecycle.Responsibilities– Reviewing user stories and acceptance criteria to understand testing requirements and identify risk areas– Creating and maintaining detailed manual test cases covering core functionality, edge cases,



validation checks and error handling– Carrying out end-to-end and integration testing across front-end interfaces and back-end services– Validating business rules, workflows, system calculations and state transitions– Running smoke and regression testing across sprint and release cycles– Logging defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence and severity ratings– Re-testing fixes and supporting defect triage with the wider delivery team– Preparing test data and helping ensure environments are ready for executionYou'll also be responsible for producing key testing deliverables including test scenarios, execution reports, regression checklists and defect documentation.What we're looking forWe're keen to speak with candidates who have previous QA or software testing exposure, whether through commercial experience, internships, university placements or technical project work.You should have a solid understanding of manual testing principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to document issues clearly and accurately.
