The Fire Crew Chief provides leadership, direction, and operationaloversight to fi refi ghting personnel responsible for protecting life, property, and missioncritical resources. The position leads fi re suppression, rescue, prevention, and emergencyresponse activities supporting structural fi res, aircraft emergencies, hazardous materialsincidents, and other fi re related operations.Job Responsibilities:- Serve as the lead crew member responsible for providing quality fi re protection,emergency response, and resource protection support at assigned locations.- Lead and supervise firefighting personnel during structural, aircraft, hazardousmaterials, rescue, and emergency response operations.- Perform and direct fire suppression, rescue, prevention, and emergency responseactivities under the guidance of senior fire officers.- Direct and control fireground operations, including fire attack, confi nement,salvage, overhaul, ventilation, and rescue activities.- Provide leadership during emergency incidents by evaluating conditions, identifyingrisks, and selecting appropriate response strategies.- Ensure assigned firefighters, emergency vehicles, fi refi ghting equipment, andresponse systems are operational, inspected, and available for immediatedeployment.- Assess emergency scenes, document initial conditions, and provide accurateinformation to supervisors for incident reporting and operational decision making.- Monitor crew performance and ensure personnel follow established firefi ghtingprocedures, safety requirements, and operational standards.- Provide first responder care and support emergency medical response activities asrequired.- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to assigned fi refi ghters to enhance operationalreadiness and professional development. Participate in the inspection,maintenance, and accountability of firefighting equipment, vehicles, facilities,
andstation grounds.- Address routine administrative and personnel matters and elevate issues to seniorleadership.- Maintain accurate records, reports, inspections, and documentation as required.- Support fi re prevention activities, safety initiatives, training exercises, andemergency preparedness programs.- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature andlevel of the position.Required Qualifications:- Minimum of six (6) years of professional fi re service experience.- High school diploma or equivalent.- Demonstrated experience leading fi refi ghting crews and emergency responseoperations.- Ability to eƯectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, tointerpret regulations, explain procedures, conduct training, and prepare reports.- Profi ciency with Microsoft OƯice applications and electronic reporting systems.- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction,multiplication, and division.- Strong leadership, decision making, problem solving, and organizational skills.- Ability to work eƯectively under stressful conditions and make timely decisionsduring emergency operations.- Ability to meet and maintain all contract medical, physical, deployment, andcredentialing requirements.- Required Certifications:- Firefi ghter I and II Certification (DoD, IFSAC, or National Pro Board)- Fire Oưicer I Certification- Fire Inspector I Certification- Fire Instructor I Certification- Hazardous Materials Operations Certifi cations- Hazardous Materials Incident Commander Certifi cation- Airport Firefighter Certification- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.- Ability to obtain country-specifi c visas per the U.S. Department of State ForeignClearance Guide.- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintaincompliance throughout the duration of deployment.- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.- Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.Preferred Qualifications:- Associates degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management,
Public Administration,or a related discipline.- A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. .- Previous experience supporting Department of Defense, military installations, orgovernment fire protection contracts.- Experience working in remote or overseas environments.- Experience leading Aircraft Resue and Fire Fighting operations.- Experience supervising multicultural or multinational emergency response teams.- Preferred Certifications:- First Responder Certification- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification- Additional emergency response, leadership, or specialty certifi cations asrequired by contract or assignmentOther Responsibilities:Safety:Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibilityfor continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. Employees may work in oƯice,industrial, warehouse, port, airfi eld, and outdoor environments and may be exposed tohigh temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Workschedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based onoperational requirements.Physical RequirementsRequirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting upto 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor andoutdoor environments.
