Role Description The Principal Consultant – Enterprise AI Strategy & Operating Model will lead strategic AI initiatives for enterprise clients, with pharma experience considered a strong plus. This contract role is based in Barcelona in a hybrid model, combining on-site collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing clients’ current AI maturity, defining enterprise AI strategies, and designing operating models that align AI capabilities with business objectives, processes, and governance requirements.

The Principal

Consultant will guide stakeholders on prioritizing AI use cases, evaluate financial and operational implications, and ensure ethical, compliant deployment of AI across the organization. This role will also involve leading consulting engagements, presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership, coordinating cross-functional teams, and contributing to ntam’s internal AI thought leadership and best practices.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex business problems, AI use cases, operating models, and financial implications.
- Demonstrated consulting and management consulting experience in designing and delivering enterprise-level strategy engagements.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging senior stakeholders, leading workshops, and presenting AI strategies and roadmaps.




- Solid understanding of finance to assess business cases, ROI, and investment requirements for AI programs.
- Experience in AI strategy, operating model design, data and technology governance, and change management in large organizations.
- Background in life sciences or pharmaceuticals is a plus, especially in regulated environments and data-driven decision-making.
- Proven ability to work in hybrid settings, collaborating in person and remotely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Advanced degree in business, engineering, data science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in enterprise consulting considered.
- Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms, data architectures, and AI ethics frameworks is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

Lead executive-level consulting activities across the programme including:
- Lead strategic discovery sessions with senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Design the future Enterprise AI Operating Model.
- Develop governance frameworks for enterprise AI adoption.
- Facilitate executive workshops and decision-making sessions.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate existing AI capabilities across the organisation.
- Translate technical assessments into executive recommendations.
- Build investment cases and executive decision packs.
- Develop implementation roadmaps and transformation plans.
- Support Steering Committee presentations and executive readouts.
- Work closely with Enterprise Architects and AI specialists to align strategic and technical recommendations.
- Provide thought leadership on Enterprise AI, Knowledge Management and Intelligent Organisations.

Required Experience
- 8–15+ years of management consulting experience.
- Previous experience with a Tier 1 consulting firm (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte Consulting, Accenture Strategy or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience leading Enterprise AI or Digital Transformation programmes.
- Experience designing Target Operating Models.
- Experience developing governance frameworks and organisational operating models.
- Strong executive facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience preparing board-level presentations and investment cases.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
