We are currently looking for an experienced Product Owner – Scenarios & Grid Solutions to join one of the leading players in the Belgian and European energy sector in Brussels, Belgium.

Job Overview

The role is part of a major digital transformation initiative supporting the energy transition, grid development and long-term electricity system planning.

The Product Owner will be responsible for maximizing the value delivered by one of the product teams within the Scenarios & Grid Studies Solutions (SGS) product line. The role focuses on translating product vision and business needs into clear priorities, actionable requirements and a delivery-ready backlog.

The Product Owner will act as a bridge between energy/grid development experts, business stakeholders and digital delivery teams, helping build data-driven, customer-centric solutions for scenario management, grid studies, planning and decision support.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and communicate the product vision, priorities and roadmap for the assigned product team.
- Own, prioritize and continuously improve the product backlog, including epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Run continuous discovery with expert communities and end users to validate needs, assumptions and expected outcomes.
- Translate business and expert user needs into clear product outcomes and actionable requirements.
- Coordinate sprint and release planning with other Product Owners and manage dependencies across teams.
- Align stakeholders across business, IT, Data and expert communities.




- Ensure expectations remain clear regarding scope, value and product direction.
- Accept completed user stories and ensure appropriate testing and documentation.
- Support and monitor adoption of delivered capabilities by business users.
- Promote Agile ways of working, continuous improvement and pragmatic innovation.
- Contribute to improving efficiency, data quality and study execution.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Must Have

- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst or similar in an Agile, digital or product-oriented environment.
- Strong understanding of the energy sector and/or TSO Grid Development context.
- Understanding of grid studies, scenarios, long-term planning and portfolio prioritization is highly desirable.
- Experience translating expert and business user needs into:
- Product backlogs
- Epics and user stories
- Acceptance criteria
- Delivery priorities
- Experience making pragmatic trade-offs between business value, feasibility, risk and delivery constraints.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to guide and influence multidisciplinary teams without direct hierarchical authority.
- Fluent English.
- Professional communication skills in Dutch and/or French.
