The Role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Engineer / Technical Lead – Java to join a large enterprise environment within the insurance industry.

You will act as a technical reference for Java-based applications, supporting development teams throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The position combines hands-on Java expertise with technical leadership, production support, security, deployment and collaboration with multiple technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the technical reference for Java applications and development teams.
- Support the complete SDLC, from requirements and technical design through deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Develop, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise applications using Java 8/11/17+.
- Provide production support, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting and performance optimization.
- Work with Git-based development workflows, including branching, pull/merge requests and code reviews.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, build automation, deployments, release management, rollback strategies and environment management.
- Participate in incident, problem, change and release management.
- Apply secure development practices including OWASP Top 10 and secure coding principles.
- Support authentication/authorization, vulnerability remediation and security patching.
- Work with SAST, DAST and Software Composition Analysis (SCA)



and collaborate on penetration-testing findings.
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Owners, QA, Infrastructure, DevOps and Security teams.
- Maintain technical documentation and promote engineering best practices and knowledge sharing.

Technical Requirements

Must-have:

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar technical environment.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Java (8/11/17+).
- Strong knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with application deployment and release management.
- Strong application troubleshooting and production support experience.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and secure coding.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Experience with SAST/DAST, SCA and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, Maven/Gradle and application servers.
- Understanding of cloud and/or on-premise deployment environments.
