R&D; assistant in Microphysiological System

Initial 4 month contract (consultant) + possible extensions

Leuven (5 days onsite/week)

The assignment

- Perform routine laboratory experiments and cell culture activities.
- Support the design, fabrication, and assembly of organ-on-chip prototypes.
- Assist in biological and engineering characterization studies, including quality control standardization.
- Collect, organize, and analyse experimental data.
- Contribute to project logistics and laboratory operations.

Required knowledge and skills

- Master degree in Science, Background in biomedical engineering, biotechnology, life sciences, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of cell biology and tissue engineering.




- Hands-on laboratory skills in cell cultures, biomaterials, microfluidics, or organ-on-chip technologies.
- Ability to execute and document experiments accurately.
- Data analysis and reporting skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Can communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken
- Experience with immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy, qPCR, or image analysis software (e.g., ImageJ). 2)
- Familiarity with primary/stem cell culture, organoid models, or organ-on-chip platforms.
