About the role

DCC is now recruiting for an Associate with experience in thefield of chemistry to join our Sydney office.

Your day-to-day work will involve all aspects of private patentattorney practice, including liaising with inventors and clients;drafting and prosecuting patent applications; conducting searches;providing patentability,



infringement and validity opinions, andproviding strategic portfolio advice.

About You

- A PhD in a chemistry-related discipline is required.
- Preferred field of expertise – organic chemistry, medicinalchemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry or chemicalbiology.
- Current registration as an Australian Patent Attorney andideally a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience postregistration.
- An excellent communicator with a strong command of writtenand verbal English.
- Demonstrated commitment to and interest in local businessdevelopment.
- Able to understand and critically analyse information andthink laterally.
- Well organised and self-motivated.
- Committed to providing clients with quality advice andservice.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
