We are looking fora Head of Technology and Capabilities - NEW DEFENSE to join an important Project located in Madridin On-site job modality.

What are we looking for?

- An/a Head of Technology and Capabilities - NEW DEFENSE, with at least years of experience.
- Availability to join a stable project in Madrid.
- Work Model: hybrid
- Work Schedule: full time

Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Aerospace, Industrial, Electronics, or equivalent).
- Additional training in technology management, an MBA, or corporate venturing programs is a plus.
- Experience: At least 10 years in roles such as CTO, innovation leadership, corporate technology development, or technical due diligence at technology companies, ideally in the defense, aerospace, or dual-use technology sectors.
- Proven experience in evaluating M&A; opportunities and international technology partnerships.
- Skills: sound and up-to-date technical judgment, market insight to anticipate the maturity of emerging technologies, ability to critically evaluate pitches and conduct rapid due diligence, negotiation skills with technology partners, focus on intellectual property protection and architectural consistency.
- C1-level English (regular communication with international partners, European forums, and due diligence on targets outside Spain).
- A valid national Security Clearance (HPS) or the ability to obtain one; a NATO/EU clearance to be obtained within the first 6 months if not already held upon hire.
- Solid knowledge of communications applied to the defense environment, including tactical networks, data links, and IP transport over wireless channels, with an understanding of performance under degraded conditions or with limited bandwidth.
- A broad understanding of the technologies that support current defense systems is preferred,



ranging from next-generation mobile networks for military use to sensor systems, platform integration, and system architectures.

What will your responsibilities be?

- Opportunity Screening: Serve as the initial technical filter for startups, industry partners, and unsolicited M&A; opportunities, with a managed pipeline reported quarterly to the BU Management.
- Capabilities Roadmap: Keep the map of technologies required to meet future CONOPS and PEGO milestones up to date, integrated with the Integrated Systems program roadmap.
- External Innovation Management: Oversee initial co-engineering projects with external partners to validate the technical and industrial feasibility of integration before committing program resources.
- Critical IP Protection: Conduct technical due diligence and recommend “Make or Buy” decisions, ensuring that partnership agreements, NDAs, and co-development contracts preserve the critical intellectual property of the core stack and the NEW DEFENSE architecture.
