Our client develops advanced manufacturing instruments based on solid-phase synthesis which is used within the pharmaceutical industry. They far more efficient than traditional bioreactors as well as being easier to automate.

Right now they are in a commercialization phase and expanding their presence globally, but with a continued focus on development.

This opportunity suits an experienced leader who enjoys building effective teams, introducing structure and driving continuous improvement in a fast-moving scientific environment.

The position is based on-site in Sweden Applications are welcome from candidates across Europe who are willing to relocate.

The role

You will lead a growing chemistry team of approximately 6 people that may grow up to 10 going forward- Youll take overall responsibility for organising the daily work, development and future scaling of the company’s laboratory and service operations.

This is a leadership role rather than a hands-on lab position. However, you will need a good understanding of organic chemistry and how the daily work in a lab looks like.

A key part of your role will be to create greater structure and accountability across laboratory activities, development projects and customer service assignments. You will establish clear priorities, improve planning and ensure that teams have the processes and support they need to deliver consistently.

You will also work with the service organisation.



Whilst not the main part of the job, this will involve speaking with external partners and customers in order to improve the customer service as well as escalating any potential issues if needed.

In addition, you will be responsible for the laboratory environment and its health and safety practices, ensuring that operations meet the appropriate standards.

You'll be a member of the management team and report directly to the CEO.

Your background

We are looking for someone who has:

- A degree in chemistry or related disciplince. Ideally Organic Chemistry or with a strong understanding of the subject.
- People management experience of Ph.D. level employees in a lab.
- Commercial thinking and accumen. An understanding that there is usually a compromise between R&D; and actually getting the product onto the market.
- Ability to introduce a strong structure as well as accountability into the daily work.
- Availability to work on-site in Sweden (more exact details will be given in the first interview)
- Experience of working in a company developing and/or manufacturing scientific instruments or hardware would be a plus.

Employment and relocation

This is a direct employment with our client and you will receive a permanent working contract.

We cannot offer Visas for those outside of the EU/Schengen area.

We will walk you through the estimated salary package and benefits for this position. A rough estimate would be between 80,000 - 90,000 euros per year in basic salary + bonus on top. There may also be some flexibility here depending on your experience level.
