Amentum is seeking a Custodian to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in assigned facilities. This role performs routine cleaning tasks, reports maintenance issues, follows safety procedures, and helps ensure buildings are well-maintained and presentable for employees, visitors, and customers.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
- Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Vacuum, steam-clean, or shampoo carpets.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Notify Supervisor or Leads concerning the need for major repairs.
- Clean building floors by sweeping,



mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Clean and restore building interiors damaged by coffee stains, dust, fingerprint or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
- May drive light vehicles required to perform custodial duties i.e. trucks, electric cars and gators.
- Follow procedures for the safe and effective use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or with hand cart.
