About the assignment

AC Advisory is looking for an experienced Data Solution Architect for a strategic freelance assignment with a leading financial institution in Brussels.

The selected consultant will help design a new Anti-Money Laundering platform, define its overall solution architecture and guide the implementation teams throughout delivery.

Assignment details

• Start date: As soon as possible

• Contract until: 31 March 2027, with a likely extension

• Location: Brussels

• Working arrangement: 50% onsite and 50% remote

• Engagement: Full-time freelance assignment

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the blueprint of the overall solution

• Produce incremental solution architecture deliverables within quarterly Agile planning

• Collaborate with Product Owners, infrastructure architects, security architects, analysts and implementation teams

• Advise on the architecture and evolution of internal developments and package-based solutions

• Ensure alignment with the organisation’s enterprise architecture and technology strategy

• Design interoperability between analytical and operational environments

• Embed security, resilience, scalability and architectural efficiency into the solution

• Support implementation teams and drive architectural decisions through effective stakeholder management

Required experience

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in IT Solution Architecture





• Proven solution architecture experience in data-related environments

• Concrete experience designing and building enterprise data platforms

• Strong experience with data products

• Experience designing interoperability between analytical and operational environments

• Solid knowledge of enterprise integration and architecture principles

• Experience collaborating with Product Owners, infrastructure and security architects, and delivery teams

• Fluent English and a good command of either French or Dutch

Preferred experience

• Experience within large organisations or financial services companies

• Previous exposure to banking, AML or KYC environments

• Experience in security-critical or highly resilient environments

• Experience with data virtualization technologies such as Denodo

Freelance eligibility

This opportunity is exclusively open to freelancers with an active Belgian enterprise number registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (BCE/KBO), either as a sole proprietor or through a company.
