The Mission

The IT Continuity Plan (ITCP) Manager is responsible for leading the project to define, document, and implement the IT Continuity Plan. The mission aims to ensure that IT continuity arrangements supporting critical business activities are identified, documented, and aligned with the existing Business Continuity Plan (BCP), regulatory requirements, and applicable corporate standards.

At its core, the ITCP Manager translates business continuity requirements into a structured IT continuity framework by identifying critical IT services, recovery objectives, key dependencies, recovery strategies, and associated recovery procedures. The role works closely with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, application owners, cybersecurity experts, and external service providers to gather the required information and build a coherent IT Continuity Plan.

The ITCP Manager acts as a project lead and coordinator throughout the definition and implementation phases. The role facilitates collaboration between the different contributors involved in the IT continuity planning process to ensure that recovery scenarios, responsibilities, dependencies, and recovery objectives are consistently documented and aligned across the organization.

A significant part of the mission consists of consolidating recovery-related information into a single IT Continuity Plan, defining the required governance framework, documenting recovery procedures, aligning recovery strategies with Business Impact Analysis outputs, and ensuring that Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) are clearly defined for critical IT services.

The ITCP Manager also coordinates the validation of the developed plan through workshops, walkthroughs, and testing activities where appropriate. Identified gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities are documented and discussed with the relevant stakeholders to support the successful implementation of the ITCP.

Strong governance and communication skills are critical to the success of this mission. The ITCP Manager ensures compliance with applicable requirements, including NIS2 obligations, internal audit recommendations and corporate frameworks. Regular reporting is provided to management regarding continuity readiness, recovery testing, identified risks, remediation actions and overall resilience of critical IT services.

Language skills are very important too.

Dutch is spoken in Doel, French in Tihange, and collaboration with IT teams is typically in English, which is also the main written language. It’s essential that the IT Continuity Plan Manager can communicate in each and has a strong understanding of the others.
