Freelance Maintenance Supervisor – Food Industry

Freelance maintenance supervisor sought for an upcoming project with a Food production company south of Brussels.

Role: Freelance Maintenance Supervisor

Location: South of Brussels (on site working)

Languages: French and English (Ideally also Dutch)

Start: Expected early September, subject to project approval

Duration: 12 months with likely extension up to 3 years

Contract: Freelance contract via Amoria Bond

The company will go through a transformation of its maintenance organization, with internal colleagues moving into project-focused roles. This creates a need for an experienced interim Maintenance Supervisor to ensure continuity of day-to-day maintenance operations.

The project is expected to start in early September, subject to final approval, with an expected duration of 2–3 years.

Responsibilities

- Take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and follow-up of maintenance activities
- Lead and coordinate a team of maintenance operators
- Plan, prioritize and follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance actions
- Ensure maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently and according to schedule
- Act as the key point of contact between maintenance, production and other operational teams
- Follow up on maintenance issues and ensure timely resolution
- Coordinate external maintenance contractors where required




- Monitor the quality and progress of maintenance work
- Support the team with a hands-on approach when needed
- Identify recurring maintenance issues and support practical improvements to equipment reliability
- Ensure clear communication and reporting on maintenance activities

Profile

- Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Coordinator in an industrial production environment
- Strong background in day-to-day maintenance operations, rather than engineering or project management
- Experience leading or coordinating maintenance technicians/operators
- Hands-on mentality and willingness to get involved operationally when required
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Able to work effectively with Production, Maintenance and other operational stakeholders
- Experience in the food industry is a strong advantage
- Fluent in French and English, Dutch is a plus
- Available for a long-term freelance assignment of approximately 1–2 years
