Role Description

Senior and Expert Business Analyst freelancers for banking and insurance clients in Brussels. Contract mandates, typically 6–24 months, hybrid (often 50% on site), remote from Belgium only.

You sit between business and IT: clarify objectives with stakeholders, capture and refine requirements, and turn them into testable specifications for delivery teams. Day to day that can include:

- Business and process analysis for digital, UI/UX, investment, claims, or transformation initiatives
- Workshops and stakeholder alignment with product owners, architects, and squads
- Requirements documentation, traceability, and support through testing and validation
- Agile ceremonies, backlog input, and structured communication to technical and non-technical audiences
- Where relevant: regulatory or reporting inputs, PMO coordination, or conceptual / data modelling

Mandate examples on our board today:

UI and channels BA, investments & regulatory compliance BA, professional lending (junior track), and similar profiles at major Belgian banks and insurers.

Languages: usually Dutch or French (one national language); English as stated per mandate.

Location:Brussels client sites (e.g. Montagne du Parc area)

Qualifications

- Senior / Expert business analysis experience (~5–8+ years typical for senior mandates; expert tracks often ~+7 years in the domain)




- Proven work in banking or insurance in Belgium (or clearly transferable regulated financial services experience)
- Strong requirements lifecycle skills: elicitation, documentation, prioritisation, validation, traceability
- Workshop facilitation and clear communication with business and IT stakeholders
- Comfortable in hybrid Brussels teams; Dutch or French professional level (mandate-specific)
- Agile / Scrum ways of working common; portal/digital BA profiles often need web/IS awareness; investment/regulatory profiles need comfort with compliance and reporting context
- Structured, analytical, quality-minded; able to work independently on client site
- Relevant degree (Business, Economics, IT, Engineering, or equivalent); BA certifications (e.g. CBAP, PMI-PBA) a plus
- Freelance / B2B setup suitable for Belgian client contracting

Our model is transparent: fixed 90/10 — you keep 90% of the billed day rate, Rivant keeps 10%. Same split on every mandate; both sides can check the numbers.

Typical mandates need Dutch or French (sometimes both or English, depending on the role). Work is hybrid in Brussels, with telework from Belgium only
