Cloud Engineer – Azure / Terraform / Kubernetes

About the role

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join a Cloud Platforms team within a general organisation.

You’ll be part of a centralised cloud engineering function responsible for designing, implementing, automating and supporting cloud infrastructure and platform services used across multiple business areas.

The role is particularly suited to someone with strong hands-on experience across Microsoft Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes/AKS and CI/CD, who enjoys building scalable, automated and secure cloud platforms.

What you'll be doing

- Design, implement and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- Deploy and support Azure compute, networking, storage, security, monitoring and identity services
- Build reusable platform components and automation
- Support onboarding of application and workload teams onto cloud platforms
- Operate and troubleshoot Kubernetes / Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitHub workflows
- Contribute to cloud security, governance, monitoring and compliance
- Support platform upgrades, reliability and performance improvements
- Work closely with cloud architects, application teams,



data teams and external partners
- Produce technical documentation and contribute to cloud engineering best practices

What we're looking for

- 3+ years' experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering or DevOps
- Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience
- Strong knowledge of Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with Kubernetes, ideally AKS
- Experience with GitHub, source control and CI/CD
- Good understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, Private Endpoints, DNS, NSGs, load balancing and firewalls
- Understanding of cloud security, identity and monitoring
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- An automation-first mindset
- Good communication and documentation skills

Nice to have

- Experience within pharma, biotech, healthcare or another regulated environment
- Azure, Terraform or Kubernetes certifications
- Experience within a dedicated platform engineering / internal cloud services team
- AWS experience
- Exposure to application, integration, data or AI platforms
