We are looking for a Staff Network Engineer to lead our VMware Software-Defined Networking (SDN) strategy. In this role, you will design scalable private cloud networks, automate workflows, and collaborate with engineering, security, and product teams in a supportive, work-life-balanced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture: Design scalable private cloud networks using VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and NSX.
Collaboration: Work with DevOps, SysAdmins, and Product Owners to define technical standards.
Automation: Modernize network provisioning using modern automation tools.
Technical Leadership: Create High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) for major networking projects.
Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers while fostering a positive team culture.
Governance: Set operational standards (SOPs) and participate in architecture review boards.
What We Look For
Technical Skills
Experience: 8+ years in network engineering, focusing on VMware SDDC environments.
VMware Stack: Strong experience with VCF and NSX / NSX-T.
Core Networking: Deep knowledge of BGP, VXLAN,
Geneve, micro-segmentation, and multi-tenancy.
Automation: Hands-on experience with Python, Terraform, Ansible, NetBox, or VMware APIs in CI/CD pipelines.
Cloud & Hybrid: Experience connecting private clouds to public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) or on-prem networks.
Modern Tech: Basic familiarity with Kubernetes CNI, Tanzu, or NSX ALB (Avi Networks).
Soft Skills
Strong mentorship and team-building skills.
Ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly to non-technical partners.
Growth mindset and adaptability to new technologies.
Languages
Spanish / German: Nice to have, but not required.
