Ophthalmology Technicians assist the Optometrist in performing routine examinations and minor surgical procedures. Applicants are expected to demonstrate problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize issues in a timely matter. They must be able to follow instructions/standardized work practices and communicate clearly, as well as establishing effective relationships with staff, patients, and their families. Viable candidates must have a strong understanding of equipment safety and maintenance, and be able to illustrate professional judgment at all times.ResponsibilitiesJob responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Answering phones, checking messages, making appointments, and taking paymentsPreparing examination and treatment roomsCleaning and maintaining ophthalmic instrumentsAssisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures
