Amentum is seeking aPainter to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Painter performs surface preparation, painting, and finishing work on buildings, equipment, and other facilities at Diego Garcia. This position supports the maintenance program by preserving and protecting government assets while adhering to applicable safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform preservation, surface preparation, coating, and finishing tasks aboard facilities, structures, or assigned work areas in accordance with Navy and program standards.
- Prepare surfaces by removing rust, corrosion,



old coatings, and debris using hand tools, pneumatic tools, grinders, sanders, and other approved equipment.
- Apply primers, paints, coatings, and sealants using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment following technical instructions and safety requirements.
- Support corrosion-control activities, including chipping, scraping, sanding, masking, and coating of various surfaces.
- Maintain cleanliness, readiness, and accountability of all painting tools, PPE, materials, and equipment.
- Assist with setup, staging, containment, and cleanup of work areas to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to complete preservation and painting tasks safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.
- Maintain accurate logs, material usage notes, and basic documentation related to paint and preservation activities.
