Introduction to role:
This role is based in Barcelona, with an on-site commitment of three days a week. Fluency in English is required. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing outsourcing and facilitating the delivery of Cell Therapy Enterprise activities across portfolio projects, currently focused on preclinical programs. You’ll ensure that these activities are delivered within agreed timelines, budget, and quality standards.
Additionally, you’ll ensure that project teams adopt the required tools, processes, and outsourcing ways of working. You’ll contribute to the development and continuous improvement of existing tools and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring business continuity in scientific project management.
You’ll have the opportunity to solve complex problems across a variety of projects, while initiating and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery.
Accountabilities:
- Develops and maintains process and technology required to effectively manage a portfolio of projects.
- Provides project management support to cell therapy portfolio projects.
- Ensures preclinical Cell Therapy Enterprise project aspects are delivered on time and budget.
- Establishes a positive project environment by facilitating team interactions.
- Responsible for timely outsourcing of preclinical Cell Therapy Enterprise activities, taking into consideration the wider project landscape ensuring correct scheduling of tasks, risk and opportunity management, reporting and resource or cost control.
- Close collaboration with Cell Therapy PSL around Cell Therapy business unit non-clinical internal resources.
- Provides project management expertise to support the design and interpretation of cross functional project plans.
- Proactively drives development and implementation of new project management strategies through use of new or current systems and resources
- Acts as a technical owner within Scientific Project Management with a deep understanding of processes and systems employed. Identifies opportunities to improve the methodology and provide practical solutions.
- Leads and implements globally agreed Scientific Project Management strategies including process and technology related to the function. Identifies and applies project management techniques to improve the project management process and provide practical solutions to common issues.
- Communicates new processes or strategies to all project teams to define future procedures.
- Keeps own knowledge of best practices and new relevant developments up to date.
- Contributes to the development, sharing and project management support of new procedures, tools or techniques to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own area.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.
- Experience in Scientific Project Management.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and new developments around Project, Change, Business Improvement and Strategy Management and Scientific Project Management.
- Experience as a project or change manager in a pharmaceutical or clinical environment.
- Ability to apply statistical techniques in the analysis of data from clinical studies or other relevant areas.
- Typically a FPM need to interact with people in at least 2 countries, but frequently both UK, SE and US.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Advanced degree within the field.
- Professional certification.
- Understanding of multiple aspects of Scientific Project.
