About the Role
The Lead Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the implementation, deployment, and engineering lifecycle of platform and infrastructure solutions.
This role translates approved platform architecture into reliable, scalable, and operable platforms,
ensuring solutions are built, tested, deployed, monitored, and handed over to operations in a
production-ready state.
The Lead Infrastructure Engineer works closely with Platform Architecture, Operations, Vendors, and Product / Delivery teams to ensure platforms meet availability, capacity, resilience, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Build & Implementation
Build and implement platform, infrastructure, and network solutions in line with approved designs and standardsConfigure and integrate hardware, software, and platform componentsEnsure solutions are implemented consistently across all environments (dev, test, pre-prod, prod)
Testing & Deployment
Execute platform and infrastructure testing, including:Deploy platform solutions across all environmentsPerform initial infrastructure and network BCP / DR testsValidate readiness for production use




Functional and integration testingResilience and failover validation
Capacity & Scaling (Execution)
Implement capacity scaling actions according to architectural guidanceMonitor vigente capacity usage and performanceExecute short- and mid-term capacity adjustments to maintain service levels
Monitoring & Observability
Implement and configure monitoring tools and agentsEnsure platforms are observable (metrics, logs, alerts, dashboards)Validate alerting and monitoring coverage before production handover
Documentation & Knowledge Management
Produce and maintain:
SOPs and runbooksOperational proceduresTechnical and operational diagrams
Ensure documentation is accurate, usable, and aligned with the deployed solution
Transition to Operations
Execute structured handover to Operations teamsSupport operational readiness reviewsDefine and document spare management policiesEnsure platforms meet operational acceptance criteria
Support & Engineering Ownership
Provide Level 3 support for complex incidents and problemsPerform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixesSupport vendors during escalations and complex technical issues
Data Centre Lifecycle (Engineering Phase)




Execute data centre refresh – deployment phaseDeploy new or replacement hardwareValidate installations against design and engineering standards
Interfaces & Collaboration
Platform Architecture (design clarification, constraints, intent)Platform Operations (handover, BAU readiness, support)Vendors and third-party suppliersProduct, Delivery, and Program teamsSecurity and Governance functions (as required)
What we are looking for
Technical Skills
Strong experience in platform / infrastructure engineering (on-prem, cloud, or hybrid)
Experience with:
Server, storage, and network platformsMonitoring and observability toolsInfrastructure testing and deployment practices
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Engineering & Delivery Skills
Hands-on engineering mindsetAbility to translate designs into working solutionsExperience working across multiple environmentsStrong documentation and operational readiness focus
Soft Skills
Clear communication with architecture and operations teamsAbility to work in cross-functional and distributed teamsOwnership mindset and accountability for delivered platforms
What This Role Is Not
Not responsible for defining architecture or target-state designsNot accountable for BAU operations (post-handover)Not a purely vendor-management or coordination role
Success Criteria
Platforms are delivered on time, stable, and production-readySmooth handover to operations with minimal post-go-live issuesClear, usable documentation and monitoring in placeReduced incidents caused by build or deployment issues
Candidates must be willing to work 3 days per week in the office, 2 days remote
