ABOUT AHBSTRA

We build machines that make drinking water out of air. Our systems uses refrigeration cycles and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to capture atmospheric moisture and produce water even in the driest atmospheric conditions.

THE ROLE

You will be part of designing and testing our air-to-water machines. You will also build the test rigs we use to screen new MOF materials — the data they generate is what optimises our current and future machines.

You will support prototyping, testing, and validation. You will generate and run test plans, analyse performance data and iterate designs to improve reliability, efficiency, and manufacturability.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Design mechanical assemblies, sheet metal parts and bespoke composite panels
- Run day-to-day testing: instrumentation, data capture, teardown, iterate




- Design and build test rigs to characterise new MOF sorbent materials
- Diagnose real hardware — airflows, heat transfer, adsorption/desorption performance of our machines
- Manage assembly technicians
- Take designs from sketch to fabrication drawings to assembled units
- Work with suppliers to reduce BOM costs
- Work with workshops to fabricate parts and prototypes

WHAT WE NEED

- Degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks)
- Hands-on. You are comfortable with tools, assembly, and instrumentation
- Good level of English
- Right to work in Spain

NICE TO HAVE

- Thermodynamics: understanding of psychrometric charts, heat pumps, refrigeration cycles, heat exchangers
- HVAC or refrigeration experience
- MOF knowledge
