An established infrastructure and real estate operator within the data center sector is seeking an Asset Manager (Substation Project Manager) to oversee the lifecycle management, resilience, and operational performance of critical electrical infrastructure across multiple data center environments in Spain.This position will play a key role in defining asset management strategies for medium and high-voltage electrical systems supporting mission-critical facilities, ensuring maximum availability, operational efficiency, and long-term reliability across the portfolio.The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, construction, and external contractor teams to optimise infrastructure performance, standardise technical assets, improve resilience, and support the delivery of future growth projects. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding data center platform operating at the forefront of critical infrastructure development within one of Europe’s fastest-growing markets.Responsibilities:Define and implement lifecycle management strategies for critical electrical infrastructure across data center environmentsOversee asset management activities relating to HV lines, substations, transformers, MV/HV distribution systems, UPS/SAI systems, generators,
and associated electrical equipmentDevelop and optimise preventative and predictive maintenance plans across critical electrical assetsDevelop technical standards and equipment normalisation strategies to optimise critical spare management and improve interchangeability between sitesReview and analyse electrical engineering designs produced by external consultants and suppliers, identifying opportunities to improve resilience, redundancy, and operational continuityLead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations relating to major incidents, failures, and operational disruptions, implementing corrective and preventative actionsManage incident and change management processes across operational infrastructure environmentsDefine and monitor SLAs and KPIs associated with external maintenance providers, ensuring service quality and operational performance targets are achievedConduct on-site technical supervision and quality control of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities performed by third-party contractorsSupport and manage the construction, commissioning, and delivery of new electrical infrastructure projects within live critical environmentsCoordinate technical negotiations, contractor management, and supplier homologation activities with OEMs, construction companies, and specialist electrical contractorsWork closely with multidisciplinary internal teams to ensure operational excellence, risk mitigation, and successful infrastructure deliverySkills/Must HaveStrong technical understanding of HV infrastructure, substations,
and mission-critical electrical systemsExtensive experience in electrical asset management and maintenance strategy developmentStrong understanding of incident management, change management, and operational risk mitigationAbility to make technical decisions within high-availability operational environmentsExperience managing contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project stakeholdersStrong negotiation, contract management, and conflict resolution skillsAnalytical and structured approach to problem-solving and incident managementStrong organisational and project coordination capabilitiesCollaborative and team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skillsDegree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineAdditional qualifications or exposure to Asset Management methodologies such as ISO 5501 would be advantageous5-10+ years of experience within engineering, maintenance, asset management, or operational infrastructure environmentsStrong project delivery experience across electrical infrastructure or critical environmentsPrevious experience working within large energy companies, utilities, engineering consultancies, data centers, substations, or other mission-critical environmentsStrong understanding of electrical OEMs, contractors, and infrastructure supply chainsExperience managing critical infrastructure projects and operational environmentsFluent English & SpanishBenefitsPerformance BonusFamily health & life insuranceFlexible remuneration scheme (meal voucher, travel card, childcare vouchers and training)Salary:55.000€ - 65.000€
