Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for an Email Strategist / Senior Email Strategist. The person in this role will plan, build, and optimize email and SMS retention strategies for ecommerce brands, including segmentation, automation flows, and campaign calendars. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing customer journeys, writing and briefing conversion-focused email content, coordinating with designers, and setting up campaigns and flows in Klaviyo or similar platforms.

The role involves analyzing performance data, running A/B tests, and translating insights into clear optimization plans for list growth, engagement, and revenue.

Strategist will also communicate regularly with clients, present strategy and performance reports,



and ensure all initiatives follow best practices, brand guidelines, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

- Experience in email marketing strategy for ecommerce, including lifecycle flows (welcome, cart abandonment, post-purchase, win-back) and campaign planning.
- Hands-on expertise with email service providers (ideally Klaviyo) for segmentation, automation setup, deliverability management, and performance tracking.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills for conversion-focused email and SMS, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging to different brands.
- Data literacy and analytical skills, including interpreting KPIs, building reports, and running A/B tests to inform strategy and optimization.
- Understanding of retention and CRM principles, including list growth tactics, personalization, and customer lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with SMS marketing, ecommerce platforms (such as Shopify), and basic marketing automation and integration concepts.
- Clear, professional communication skills and experience managing client relationships or stakeholder expectations in a remote environment.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple accounts or projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving, performance-driven setting.
- Prior experience in agency, consultancy, or in-house ecommerce marketing roles; senior candidates should demonstrate leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing
