Principal Clinical Scientist (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your career-long expertise in clinical trial design and regulatory science could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI systems understand biomedical evidence?
We're looking for a Principal Clinical Scientist to bring senior-level rigor to AI-driven research workflows. Your work will help ensure that AI models reason about clinical data the way the best scientists do — accurately, methodically, and in line with the standards expected by the FDA, EMA, and equivalent agencies worldwide.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced clinical scientists who want to contribute to something genuinely new — without leaving behind the expertise it took years to build.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design and review clinical trial protocols used to generate high-quality, regulator-ready datasets for AI training and evaluation
- Interpret and audit clinical trial results, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and regulatory relevance
- Evaluate AI-generated clinical analyses for scientific soundness and alignment with regulatory expectations
- Identify gaps, errors, and weaknesses in how AI models reason about clinical outcomes and trial methodology
- Provide structured expert feedback that directly improves how frontier AI systems understand real-world clinical evidence
- Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Senior-level clinical scientist with hands-on experience designing and reviewing clinical trial protocols for regulatory submission
- Deep expertise interpreting clinical data for agencies such as the FDA, EMA, or equivalent
- Strong command of clinical research methodology, biostatistics, or translational science
- Able to critically evaluate complex scientific outputs and communicate findings with precision
- Detail-oriented and systematic — you hold work to a high standard
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality review, or evaluation systems
- Familiarity with AI tools or machine learning workflows in a biomedical context
- Background in pharmacology, epidemiology, or regulatory affairs
Why Join Us
- Work directly on frontier AI systems that are reshaping clinical and biomedical research
- Influence how AI understands, evaluates, and communicates real-world clinical evidence at scale
- Fully remote and adaptable — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, high-impact work
- Collaborate with leading AI research teams and labs on cutting-edge projects
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
