Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Location: Madrid (hybrid) | Department: Quality | Reports to: Chief Product Officer

At Smileat, we believe good nutrition can change the future of little ones. Every day we work to offer organic, honest, quality products made with ingredients families actually understand — accompanying them through the most wonderful adventure there is.

If you're the kind of person who makes things happen — who turns a plan into a campaign, a deadline into a launch — keep reading.

? Your mission:

This role exists to ensure that every product, label, and piece of communication from the company complies with current food regulations in each target market — domestic and international — safeguarding regulatory, health, and reputational compliance. But the mission doesn't stop at "spotting problems": it also means interpreting and translating that regulatory complexity into clear decisions that let the company launch and export safely and with agility.

? What we're looking for:

Beyond qualifications and experience, we're looking for someone who:

- Has applied food regulations hands-on — in quality, R&D;, or a regulatory affairs department — not just studied them during their degree.
- Has a working knowledge of project management to keep track of projects and teams.
- Has 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Has an international mindset: comfortable working in English, researching other countries' legislation, and dealing with subsidiaries or clients outside Spain.
- Is meticulous by nature, aware that a labeling mistake isn't a minor detail but a real legal and health risk.
- Knows how to prioritize and stay organized to manage several products and markets in parallel without losing rigor.
- Has a facilitator's mindset: faced with "this can't be done," prefers to answer "here's how we make it work."

✨ What we expect from you:

Once in the role, we expect you to:

- Become the internal go-to person for any questions on regulatory compliance, labeling, or exports.
- Rigorously validate every label, claim,

and technical data sheet before it reaches the market, understanding the real impact of each decision.
- Proactively monitor regulations — not just when something comes up — and translate and interpret any relevant changes into a clear action plan.
- Act as a bridge between legal and the business: provide real support to R&D;, Marketing, and Sales without becoming a bottleneck.
- Keep regulatory documentation organized and accessible, so any colleague can find it when they need it.
- Represent the company confidently in regulatory matters with clients, subsidiaries, or authorities.

? What You'll Get

Because taking care of families starts with taking care of our own team:

- ? Permanent full-time contract.
- ? 60 flexible remote working days per year.
- ? Adaptable working hours.
- ? Continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
- ?️ Employee discounts.
- ?️ Modern offices in Madrid's Gran Vía.
- ?️ Summer intensive working schedule.
- ? In-office physiotherapy sessions.
- ? Sponsorship for sporting events and races.
- ? Most importantly, the chance to grow with a company that's redefining its category — one honest ingredient, one honest word, at a time.

? Why Smileat?

We're looking for people who want more than just another job. ✨ People who are curious, collaborative, and excited by challenges. ? People who want to build something meaningful — the kind of work that reaches real families, at one of the most wonderful moments of their lives.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear your story.
