Solution Design Engineer – Sortation & ASRS | Netherlands (relocation)

Are you an experienced Solution Design Engineer or Sales Engineer with a strong technical background?

We are looking for a Solution Design Engineer to join an international warehouse automation and intralogistics organisation, working on advanced sortation and Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS).

This is an opportunity to work on complex, international projects where engineering, data analysis, automation and customer interaction come together.

What will you do?

- Design concepts for sortation and ASRS systems
- Analyse order profiles, SKU data, throughput and storage requirements
- Develop and optimise warehouse layouts and material flows
- Perform throughput, capacity and equipment-rate calculations
- Create scalable solutions based on peak demand and future growth
- Work with AutoCAD and Autodesk Navisworks for layouts, model integration and clash detection
- Prepare technical specifications, equipment lists and preliminary BOMs
- Lead technical design reviews with internal teams and customers
- Support sales and project teams during international proposals
- Present technical solutions directly to customers and stakeholders

- Cross-belt and other automated sortation systems
- Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
- 3D ASRS




- Pick-to-Light / Put-to-Light
- Material handling equipment
- Warehouse automation and control systems
- WMS/WCS interfaces
- Simulation and modelling tools

International & customer-facing role

This is not a purely technical design position.

You will work closely with customers, sales teams, engineers and project teams, helping translate operational challenges into commercially viable technical solutions.

Excellent English is essential.

German and/or French would be a strong advantage, particularly when working with customers and partners across European markets.

What are we looking for?

- 4–5+ years of experience in material handling, intralogistics, warehouse automation, sortation and/or ASRS
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Experience with Autodesk Navisworks, including model aggregation and clash detection
- Strong Excel and data-analysis capabilities
- Experience with warehouse/process data, throughput calculations, and scenario analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong communication and presentation skills

Nice to have

- German and/or French
- Experience with FlexSim, AutoMod, ARENA, or similar simulation tools
- Knowledge of WMS/WCS integration
- Creo or SolidWorks experience
