Within our Trusted Connectivity business unit, we develop cutting-edge solutions for the telecommunications industry, ranging from SIM cards and eSIMs to Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP), Subscription Management, and secure connectivity services, connecting people, businesses, and devices worldwide.
We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to install, configure, integrate, and support Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) platforms for Consumer Devices, M2M, and IoT/eIM use cases.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in SIM/eSIM technologies, RSP platforms, Orchestrator and OTA platforms, mobile network infrastructure, and GSMA RSP specifications, combined with strong experience in Linux-based environments, cloud technologies, automation, and infrastructure as code.
Working Model
This is a hybrid position based in Madrid, with a minimum requirement to work from the Madrid office at least twice per month. Availability to travel when required.
What will you do?
Site Reliability Engineering
- Work together with R&D; to develop and maintain reliable, scalable, and efficient systems related to SIM/eSIM platforms.
- Work closely with R&D; when new features are being developed and ensure that new features are ready to be released.
- Ensure new features are validated in terms of performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Prepare and conduct knowledge transfer, documentation, and information sharing with other team members.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work together with the DevOps team to improve existing and implement new, effective CI/CD processes.
- Work together with Enablement Engineers to produce automation tools required for performance and reliability monitoring.
- Work together with the Operations team to support the platforms from an operational perspective.
System Architecture & Design
- Continuously evaluate and optimize system performance and capacity to maintain stable production platforms.
- Identify, assess, and implement measures to eliminate potential risks that could impact the performance of systems and services.
- Research, evaluate, test, and advise on the selection of appropriate technologies or tools to improve site reliability.
Observability & Monitoring
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and execute pipeline optimization.
- Implement comprehensive service metrics to track and report on system reliability, performance, and efficiency.
Disaster Recovery & Backups
- Implement disaster recovery plans and ensure robust backup systems are in place.
Capacity Planning & Performance Engineering
- Support forecasting, scaling, and performance tuning.
- Create KPIs to monitor growth and optimize resource utilization.
Migrations
- Analyze and plan complex migrations.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in telecommunications or related fields.
- Experience working in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Operations, or similar roles.
- Strong experience with SIM/eSIM technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) platforms, particularly for Consumer Devices, M2M, and IoT/eIM use cases.
- Experience deploying and supporting RSP applications in Linux-based environments and SQL database environments.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with modern cloud services, particularly Kubernetes, AWS EKS, RDS/Aurora, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines is highly valued.
- Knowledge or experience with Orchestrator and OTA platforms.
- Knowledge of GSMA RSP specifications.
- Strong technical skills, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
- English communication skills.
- Availability to work from the Madrid office at least twice per month
- Availability to travel when required.
