Experteer Overview
In this role, you ensure safe, right-first-time steelwork installation on complex material handling projects within the EMEA Steelwork Operations Team. You provide expert technical guidance, lead on-site safety, and coordinate with subcontractors to align with project objectives and Dematic’s safety culture. You will work across Engineering, Procurement and Project Management to resolve issues, drive productivity, and support a successful handover to downstream teams. The opportunity combines hands-on steelwork leadership with cross-functional collaboration in a global technology-enabled business.

• Provide safety education and coaching to subcontractor teams to promote hazard awareness and a safety-first culture
• Act as on-site authority for steelwork standards and ensure right-first-time installation
• Monitor RAMS compliance and supervise high-risk activities on site
• Produce safety and progress reports using cloud-based tools (e.g. Gensuite)
• Coordinate and supervise all on-site steelwork activities ensuring safety and quality
• Carry out regular quality checks and record trends using QMS systems
• Collaborate with Site Manager on the Site Installation Plan and manage delays and remedial actions
• Ensure defect-free handover of steelwork to mechanical installation teams and support customer handover
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for steelwork safety and technical queries
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement and Project Management to resolve issues and improve delivery
• Drive productivity improvements and optimisation to enhance on-site production and assembly rates
• Mentor team members and support succession planning
• Identify waste and implement improvements to reduce material and energy use
Responsabilidades
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience in field engineering for steel structures in material handling systems
• Strong ability to perform structural analysis, determine connections, basic sizing and cost calculations
• Experience evaluating RFQs and supplier information for technical solutions
• Proven ability to contribute to cost-effective technical design and 2D/3D steelwork drawings
• Effective communication and stakeholder management, including acting as EMEA technical point of contact and coordinating suppliers/subcontractors
• Knowledge of statutory regulations and structural standards
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD and Tekla
• Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH/IOSH or First Aid considered desirable
