Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM Buildings + Places is actively seeking Architects for immediate employment in our Madrid or Barcelona office.As an Architect, the candidate will be joining a highly motivated and proactive team, with multidisciplinary projects delivered across several geographies, with the potential to grow and thrive. Delivering diverse projects will provide candidate with the opportunity to collaborate with professionals working on different fields of expertise, improving their knowledge of the design and construction process. Candidate would take part of the complete project life cycle, from early proposal stages, throughout the project planning, set up and execution, up to project closure.Under the direct supervision of a Project Lead, the candidate will contribute to the team with the following tasks:Conducts space planning, block planning, and adjacencies in coordination with building programPrepares and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and detailsCoordinates building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.)
to ensure compatibility with the design intentAssists in the evaluation and selection of building systems and materialsAttends project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultantsInterprets and applies building codes and requirements of other regulatory agenciesParticipates in the preparation of specifications and basic cost estimatingImplements sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environmentSupports Project Lead in development of material for presentationsParticipates in design critiques and pin-upsAssists in site analysis, research of concept, benchmarks, typology, and precedentsQualificationsALL CANDIDATES MUST SUBMIT A PORTFOLIO WITH THEIR CV/RESUMEMinimum Requirements :5 years experience in a similar positionAdvanced proficiency in Revit (essential), plus Rhino, AutoCAD and Adobe SuiteWell organized with the ability to manage time and deadlines in a fast-paced work environmentStrong design and graphics skillsKnowledge of space programming, contract documents (including detailing, specifications, production management, design production), and contract administrationAbility to supervise and coordinate small teamsLanguagesBusiness English skills: proficiencyOther language proficiency is desirableAdditional InformationAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
