Responsibilities

As an IT Help Desk Specialist, you will be responsible for providing essential first-line support to our entire school district. Your primary duties will include:
Diagnosing and resolving technical hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals.
Assisting with user account management, including password resets, permissions, and onboarding of new users.
Logging, tracking, and documenting all help desk interactions and their resolutions to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
Escalating complex and unresolved issues to senior IT personnel in a timely manner.
Providing clear and patient guidance to users to help them resolve their technical problems.
Contributing to IT projects and supporting technology roll-outs across the district.
Qualifications

Proven experience in an IT help desk or technical support role.




Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with macOS or Chrome OS is a plus.
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting PC hardware, printers, and other common peripherals.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for explaining technical information to non-technical individuals.
A strong customer-service orientation and a patient, professional demeanour.
The ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.
Experience working within an educational or public sector setting would be a significant advantage.
