Site Operations Manager (Hands-On Industrial Operations)
Location: Port of Cádiz, Spain
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Site Operations Manager to lead a small industrial dismantling and processing facility at the Port of Cádiz. This role requires a practical, self-sufficient professional who can independently manage daily operations while actively supporting on-site activities when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and operate the facility with a strong hands-on approach
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and continuity
- Resolve operational challenges independently and proactively
- Take full ownership of site activities, including administration, coordination with service providers, workforce supervision, and contractor management
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, including proper material tracking and reporting
- Manage all on-site administrative tasks not covered by headquarters or external providers
- Build and maintain relationships with customers (buyers of materials such as copper, steel, and plastics),
suppliers, service providers, and local authorities including the Port Authority and Zona Franca Cádiz
Profile & Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial operations, ideally in recycling or processing plants
- Strong hands-on mindset with the ability to step into operational tasks when required
- Proven ability to run a facility autonomously within a lean team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of ownership and accountability
- Basic knowledge of business management, accounting, HR, and environmental/regulatory requirements
Education
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong practical experience will be considered as an alternative
Languages
- Spanish: Fluent (written and spoken)
