The Opportunity:
Flywire is seeking a Senior SRE / Cloud Platform Engineer to own, scale and secure the underlying cloud infrastructure powering our high-stakes payment intelligence and data platforms. You will serve as the cloud infrastructure anchor for our data engineering and AI initiatives, establishing best practices for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD and platform reliability across AWS and GCP, reporting into the team led by our Hiring Manager, Roberto.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Lead the design, modularization and deployment of integral cloud environments using Terraform across AWS and GCP, establishing enterprise-grade IaC best practices.
- Platform Reliability & Observability: Define, monitor and enforce SLIs,



SLOs and alerting frameworks for underlying data platforms to minimize MTTR and maximize uptime.
- DevOps & CI/CD Automation: Architect robust GitLab CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration with Fargate and zero-manual-intervention deployment workflows.
- Data Platform Enablement: Work with Data Engineering teams to provide secure, scalable cloud environments for Airflow, dbt, streaming feeds (Pub/Sub, Beam) and AI integrations.
- Security & Cost Governance: Automate cloud access policies (RBAC/ABAC), network security and cost optimization for resource-heavy data workloads.
