Senior Tunnel Engineer in AECOM’s Geotechnical discipline leading tunnel design and supervision across rock and soil conditions. You will drive ground engineering assessments, oversee underground structures, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on international projects. This role offers leadership in complex tunnelling efforts, mentorship of junior engineers, and bid involvement to secure major infrastructure work. You’ll work within a global team delivering innovative, sustainable infrastructure for communities.

• Lead design and supervision of tunnel projects (rock/soil) including drawings and specs
• Experience with tunnelling construction methods (TBM, NATM, SCL)
• Design and oversee underground structures (cut-and-cover tunnels, shafts, underground stations)
• Perform tunnelling support system calculations and produce detailed drawings
• Coordinate technical challenges during project development and mentor the team




• Utilize geotechnical data for ground characterization and risk assessment
• Lead bid preparation for tunnelling scope (technical and budget)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geographies for high-quality delivery
Responsabilidades
• Master's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering
• 8-10 years of proven tunnelling experience
• Geotechnical experience valued
• Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
• Proficiency in geotechnical software for tunnels design (PLAXIS 2D/3D, xqbhyrx RS2, Roc Support)
• Strong knowledge of Spanish codes and international standards (AASHTO, ACI, ASTM, Eurocodes, SBC)
• International project experience valued
