Mechanical Design EngineerAbout the RoleImagine standing at the edge of aerospace innovation, designing mechanisms that need to move faster, react quicker, and perform reliably in extreme environments. This is not just about designing components. You will be helping develop the mechanical systems behind next-generation UAV technology, where every calculation, tolerance, assembly, and design decision directly contributes to speed, autonomy, precision, and reliability. Our client is a fast-growing aerospace and defence technology company developing advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle systems for mission-critical applications. Their technology is designed to support modern defence operations through speed, precision, and cost-effective innovation. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-performance aerospace systems and contribute to the future of flight. What You’ll DoCreate detailed CAD designs, including part modelling, assemblies, drafting, and technical drawingsWork with Siemens NX or similar CAD toolsApply strong mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentalsUse Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, GD&T;, in design workDesign with manufacturing and assembly in mind, applying DFM and DFA principlesUse engineering analysis tools such as FEA/FEM where requiredWork with PLM systems such as TeamcenterProduce clear technical documentationCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production,
and supplier teamsManage multiple design activities and projects in a fast-paced environmentSupport the development of precision mechanical systems across the full product lifecycleWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering3+ years of mechanical design experience in a precision engineering environmentStrong experience with CAD design, ideally Siemens NX or similarGood understanding of mechanical design for high-performance or safety-critical systemsExperience with GD&T;, DFM, DFA, and technical documentationExposure to FEA/FEM toolsExperience working with technical suppliers to ensure design requirements are metExperience supporting products across the full lifecycleAerospace, defence, or military-spec product experience would be highly advantageousWho You AreYou enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and thrive in a fast-moving technical environment. You are practical, curious, and comfortable working closely with other engineering disciplines to bring ideas from concept through to real-world application. You are not afraid to challenge conventional design thinking, test ideas, and refine solutions until they meet the required level of performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Why Join?Work on cutting-edge aerospace and defence technologyContribute to next-generation UAV systemsCollaborate with highly skilled engineers from across the worldJoin a fast-paced, high-growth environmentSee your work have a real impact on the future of flight
