Job Description

Reporting to the Testing Manager, he/she will be involved in carrying out Testing Projects focused mainly on the study of the structural durability and abuse performance of the vehicles .

The Test Engineer will be in charge of the execution of the testing projects which he/she will be assigned for and will act as window person with the client. The successful Test Engineer has a self-starting mentality, enjoys working hands‑on on a variety of projects simultaneously and understands how to achieve a high level of "client" satisfaction from technical and quality points of view.

In particular, the Test Engineer will be in charge of the following responsibilities and duties :

- Study of client’s test requirements.
- Create test procedures, plans and test reports to support the test project.
- Specify instrumentation & equipment on test vehicles and perform test data collection (RLDA) using sensors like wheel force transducers, accelerometers, strain gages, string potentiometers etc.




- Design, creation and implementation of automated data analysis scripts to analyse the collected data.
- Analyse and process the collected test data and check for data integrity.
- Work in close collaboration with vehicle technicians, instrumentation and design teams.
- Write test reports to document results of testing and to communicate issues found.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- The role will be based in IDIADA Spain and will require travel based on project characteristics.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 1+ years ofexperience in vehicle-level testing projects related to the activities described in Job Description section.

Test Equipment Expertise:

- Proficient use and handling of test equipment including:
- Wheel force transducers
- Accelerometers
- Strain gauges
- String potentiometers

Software Proficiency:

- Data acquisition and analysis platforms (CATMAN, Glyphworks n-Code, Siemens TestLab, RPC)
- Programming and analytical tools (MATLAB, Python)

Communication Skills:

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience writing formal procedures, plans, and technical reports
- Comfortable leading client meetings and presenting test results with technical depth
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
