We are looking for an experienced Program Management Officer (PMO) to act as the central point of contact for a diverse portfolio of engineering and process-related projects at its Geel site.
In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of Project Leaders and Engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects that support site operations and strategic objectives. Acting as the bridge between stakeholders, business functions, and project teams, you will provide direction, challenge project assumptions, and drive effective portfolio execution.
This position requires a strong combination of leadership, project management expertise, process engineering knowledge, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Portfolio Management
- Oversee a portfolio of engineering and process-related projects across the site.
- Ensure projects are aligned with business priorities, site strategy, and operational objectives.
- Monitor project performance, risks, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Support governance activities and provide portfolio-level reporting to stakeholders and leadership.
Team Leadership
- Lead and coordinate a team of Project Leaders and Engineers executing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Foster a collaborative, self-managing team culture focused on ownership and accountability.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level project professionals, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Ensure the right balance of expertise and experience within the project team to enable knowledge sharing and successful project delivery.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact (SPOC) between the project team, business stakeholders, and site leadership.
- Build strong relationships across operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, and management teams.
- Facilitate effective communication and alignment between all parties involved in project execution.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and proactively address potential issues or conflicts.
Technical & Project Oversight
- Provide guidance and challenge Project Leaders on scope definition, project approach, risk management, and execution strategies.
- Review project plans, business cases, technical solutions, and change proposals.
- Leverage engineering and process knowledge to support decision-making and ensure high-quality project outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to project management processes and engineering practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project, program, or portfolio management within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotech, or chemical environment.
- Strong understanding of process engineering and engineering project execution.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders in a complex organizational environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to challenge assumptions constructively and influence decision-making at different organizational levels.
- Experience in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Familiarity with capital projects, process improvements, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience coaching and developing Project Leaders and Engineers.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and governance frameworks.
- Fluent Dutch is mandatory.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages, enabling effective collaboration with local stakeholders and international teams.
