Senior AI Engineer - Automotive In-Cabin Monitoring | 6-Month Contract

I'm currently supporting a search for a Senior AI Engineer to join an automotive AI team developing next-generation In-Cabin Monitoring Systems.

This is a 6-month contract, based in Brussels, with hybrid working available and remote considered for the right candidate.

The role is idóneo for a hands-on AI/Computer Vision engineer who has experience taking models from R&D; through to embedded automotive deployment and production.

What you'll be working on

- Developing advanced Computer Vision and Deep Learning solutions for automotive in-cabin applications
- Working with CNNs, Transformers, Vision Transformers (ViT) and multimodal architectures
- Building datasets, training pipelines and evaluation methodologies
- Optimising AI models for embedded automotive SoCs and edge platforms
- Applying techniques including quantisation, pruning, knowledge distillation and inference optimisation
- Working with system architects, software engineers, sensor specialists and product teams
- Supporting the development lifecycle from prototype through to production
- Exploring synthetic data generation and self-supervised learning

What we're looking for

- 5+ years' experience in AI/ML, ideally within automotive
- Strong expertise in Computer Vision, Deep Learning,sing and Pattern Recognition
- Strong Python, PyTorch,



TensorFlow and OpenCV skills
- Experience with object detection, segmentation, pose estimation, human activity recognition, face/eye tracking or 3D vision
- Proven experience deploying AI models on embedded platforms
- Automotive experience within an OEM, Tier 1/2, semiconductor or sensing company is essential

Experience with NVIDIA DRIVE, Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride, TI Jacinto, Renesas R-Car, NXP or Ambarella would be highly advantageous.

Knowledge of RGB/NIR/IR/ToF/depth sensing, ISO 26262, ASPICE or SOTIF would also be valuable.
